About Theo, and why this handbook exists
Hi, I'm Theo Marsh. I'm a soft-spoken person who once stood outside a friend's flat for eleven minutes because I couldn't decide whether to knock or pretend I'd just arrived. I like quiet bookshops, long walks home, and sentences that take their time. This handbook began as notes to myself, written on evenings when I wished someone would simply tell me that my nerves were ordinary.
The format is a small FAQ for shy and anxious people. Each post takes one honest question and answers it the way a friend would, usually with a confession of my own attached. I write about AI companions as a rehearsal room, a place to try a warm sentence, a teasing line or a first hello where nothing is graded. The characters I mention on TheFriend are AI characters, never real people, and I will always say so plainly.
This is not a gadget guide, and it is not therapy. I won't tell you to swap your friends for a screen, and I won't promise that practice turns anyone into a charmer overnight. What I can offer is company at the party door, a few gentle ideas for the walk in, and a reminder that wanting to be warm is a lovely thing to want. Take what helps, leave the rest, and go say hello to someone.
